IcLucy? What An Unusual Name!
IcLucy is definitely not a name you think of when you imagine a nonprofit. We know. However, let us introduce you to Lucifer, the cat you will definitely see popping up in our comics and blogs.
Lucifer sadly passed away after 1 year of life, but made an impact to everyone who met him. From warm hugs to voracious meows that made everyone laugh, it was impossible to not love this cat. After the passing of Lucifer and the grief felt by the community he impacted, IcLucy was born as a testament to the values Lucifer embodied and what we hope to continue.
This is why we all "C" Lucy in our works, as even though he is gone, his spirit still lives on through the youth impacted by our work.
About Us
Mission
IcLucy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in Orange County, California. The goal of IcLucy is to advocate for youth on highly relevant issues. As many as 45% of high school youth do not feel prepared for college or the real world. If we as a society do not value the practical education of our future generation, we actively let inequality continue to persist.
The mission of IcLucy is to advocate, educate, support, and provide for youth by providing them with the skills they need to be a well-rounded member of society while doing what they love.
Why Volunteer With IcLucy?
IcLucy was formed with the thought of youth in mind. After volunteering with a plethora of organizations, we noticed the need to elevate students towards more actionable projects, as it was harder for students to gain leadership roles in large nonprofit organizations. Yet, many were intimidated by the thought of pursuing an initiative completely alone, with no guidance or peers.
Hence, IcLucy was formed as an avenue for students globally to pursue causes regarding youth that they were passionate about while still being encouraged by like-minded students and IcLucy's team. While the outputs of IcLucy may be similar to other nonprofits, it is the unique method of input and cohesive community formed by IcLucy that allows us to pursue our mission--elevating Youth.
